Connect your WhatsApp Business account to send and receive messages, automate responses with bots, and manage campaigns.
Ways to connect
You can add a WhatsApp number in a few ways, all from the Add Number button:
- Phone WhatsApp: link an existing number by scanning a QR code. Quickest to try. The linked session expires after about 48 hours and needs re-linking.
- WhatsApp Cloud Business: import via the Meta Cloud API with your WhatsApp Business Account ID and access token. Recommended for production.
- Import from Twilio WhatsApp: bring a number you already run on Twilio's WhatsApp.
- Import with Interakt: connect a number managed through Interakt using its API key.

This guide covers Phone WhatsApp and WhatsApp Cloud Business in detail below. Twilio and Interakt follow the same pattern: choose the method, enter that provider's credentials, then attach an agent.
Connecting Phone WhatsApp
Follow these steps to connect your existing WhatsApp number using QR code authentication.
Initiate connection
From Add Number, choose Phone WhatsApp to link an existing number by QR.
Scan QR code
A QR code will be displayed on the screen. To scan it:
- Open WhatsApp on your mobile phone
- Go to Settings (or Menu on Android)
- Select Linked Devices
- Tap on Link a Device and point your camera at the screen

The QR code is valid for only 15 seconds. If it expires, you will need to regenerate it.
Attach a bot
Once the WhatsApp connection is successful, your number will appear in the list. You can now attach a bot to this number.
- Locate your connected number card
- Click on the Select Agent dropdown or Attach Assistant button
- Choose an available bot from your account

Automated responses
With the bot attached, any incoming message to this number will be automatically processed. The bot will respond based on its configuration and the user's query.

Connecting WhatsApp Cloud
Follow these steps to connect your WhatsApp Cloud API account using your Meta developer credentials.
Initiate Cloud connection
From Add Number, choose WhatsApp Cloud Business.
Provide credentials
A form will appear asking for your WhatsApp Business API credentials. You need to provide:
- WhatsApp Business Account ID
- User Access Token (System User Token recommended)
- App ID
- Business Manager ID
You can find these details in your Meta App Dashboard under WhatsApp → API Setup.

Fetch numbers
Once you submit valid credentials, the system will automatically authenticate with Meta and fetch all verified phone numbers associated with your WhatsApp Business Account.
This process may take a few seconds. Using an invalid token or account ID will result in an error.

Attach a bot
After the numbers are fetched and displayed in your list:
- Find the number you wish to use
- Click Attach Assistant
- Select the AI agent you want to handle conversations for this number
