# FAQ (/docs/reseller/faq)

> Common questions about running client accounts on the reseller API, from keys and access to credits, verification, and branding.

The questions below cover what most partners ask when they build on the reseller API. If
something is not answered here, the [Reseller API](/docs/reseller-api) page is the journey,
linking to each area.

## Getting started [#getting-started]

The reseller API is for running client accounts from your own product over the API.
OmniRelay adds a fully branded platform on your own domain, where your clients sign in
and work. Both need a reseller account. See the [overview](/docs/reseller/your-business/overview) for a
side-by-side comparison.

The client's account pays, out of its own balance. You fund that balance with a credit
transfer, and the client's calls, numbers, and other usage draw it down. Your own balance
is only debited when you transfer minutes to a client.

Your own reseller key, from the account owner or an admin on it. A teammate with viewer
access is refused. It acts on your own account by default, and on a named client when you
pass `user_id`.

## Clients and access [#clients-and-access]

Blocking is instant and reversible: the client is signed out, its keys stop, and nothing
is deleted. Releasing is one-way: it reverts the balance you funded, takes back the
numbers you bought, and retires the logins. See [Clients](/docs/reseller/your-clients/clients).

Send `user_id` with your own reseller key. The call runs on that client's account, on its
agents, numbers, balance, and concurrency. See
[Act as a client](/docs/reseller/your-clients/acting-as-clients).

A client account's seat allowance follows that client's own plan, not yours. To add a user
to a client, create it under the client's account, or contact us about seats.

## Client API keys [#client-api-keys]

No. A key stops working when you revoke it, when the user's expiry date passes, or when
the user is archived. The secret is shown once, at issue, and never in a listing. See
[Client API keys](/docs/reseller/your-clients/client-api-keys).

No. The secret is returned only when the key is issued. If it is lost, revoke it and
issue a new one.

## Credits [#credits]

No. `cost_per_min` must be at least your own rate, for both the basic and premium rate. A
lower value is refused, so you cannot lose money on every call.
`welcome_minutes_to_credit` is capped the same way. See [Credits](/docs/reseller/your-business/credits).

Transfer and revert do not take an idempotency key today, so a retry can move the money
twice. Read the ledger at `GET /api/v1/reseller/credits/logs` before you retry.

## Verification and numbers [#verification-and-numbers]

Only in regions that require it, and only to buy a number. For India it is an Aadhaar
eKYC. Verification is per carrier, so a client verified on one carrier still verifies on
another. See [Verification](/docs/reseller/your-clients/verification).

On the client's account, and its rental comes out of the client's balance, not yours. The
client can then attach it to one of its agents. See [Numbers](/docs/reseller/your-clients/numbers).

## Branding [#branding]

Your clients see your name on their email and hear it on the verification call once you
set a brand. Your own email is unchanged. For a fully branded platform on your own domain,
use [OmniRelay](/docs/omnirelay).
